The Esgueira bridge on the North Line was built in the late 1980s. It has 8 spans with two parallel decks in prestressed reinforced concrete with approximately 31 m span in the 6 central spans and 29 m span in the end spans, totaling a length of 244 m.
The original structural design is based on independent simply supported spans that, after a few years of operation, exhibited anomalous longitudinal displacements
Services provided Gapres was responsible for the safety reassessment of the structure and the structural rehabilitation project of the Esgueira Bridge, including the modification of the structural scheme, repositioning of decks and rehabilitation of bearing devices.
